How to delete your account

You can request the permanent deletion of your CookUp account directly from the mobile application, in the Settings → Account section.

Account deletion is an irreversible action that will result in the permanent loss of all your personal data, orders, favorites, and history.

Deletion Process

Step 1: Deletion request

In the mobile application, go to Settings → Account → "Delete my account". You will be informed that your account will be permanently deleted after 30 days.

After confirmation, your request is recorded and your account is immediately frozen.

Step 2: Grace period (30 days)

For 30 days from your request, your account is pending deletion:

  • You can no longer log in to your account
  • Your data is no longer publicly accessible
  • Your data is temporarily retained for legal reasons and dispute management

Important: If you wish to cancel the deletion, you can log back into the application before the 30-day period expires. Your account will then be reactivated.

Step 3: Permanent deletion

After 30 days, your account and personal data are permanently deleted or anonymized. This action is irreversible.

Why a 30-day delay?

The 30-day period before permanent deletion allows for:

  • Dispute management: To resolve any potential issues related to your orders or transactions
  • Legal obligations: To comply with our data retention obligations (accounting, taxation)
  • Fraud prevention: To maintain platform security
  • Possible cancellation: To give you time to reconsider and cancel if you change your mind

What happens to my data?

After permanent deletion of your account:

  • All your personal data (name, email, phone, address) is deleted or anonymized
  • Your culinary preferences are deleted
  • Your payment methods are deleted
  • Your order history is anonymized (retained for legal obligations but no longer linked to you)
  • Your reviews and favorites are deleted

Some data may be retained longer if required by law (for example, invoices for accounting obligations).

Cancel an account deletion

If you have requested account deletion but wish to cancel it, you can simply log back into the mobile application with your usual credentials before the 30-day period expires.

You will then be informed that your account is pending deletion and can choose to cancel this request. Your account will be immediately reactivated and you will regain access to all your data.

⚠️ Warning

Account deletion is a permanent and irreversible action after the 30-day period expires. Please make sure you really want to delete your account before confirming your request.
